Citizen Congress Watch (CCW) was founded on April 18, 2007, composed of 48 organizational members. The goals are to oversee the congress, eliminate inadequate legislators and improve congress culture. To achieve the goals, each year CCW has been releasing legislators’ scorecard reports, congress oversight forums, initiatives press conferences, and trainings for volunteers and intern students. With these efforts, CCW hopes to mold strong public opinions to urge the Legislator Yuan toward the goals – serving public welfare, transparency, efficiency, enlightenment and integrity
In recent years, we have actively participated in international activities, connecting with parliament monitoring organizations in the Asia-Pacific region and around the world, fostering international collaboration. Not only have we strengthened cooperation and exchanges with parliament monitoring organizations from various countries, but we have also deepened the practice of democratic oversight. Through participation in international forums, bilateral meetings, and multilateral dialogues, we share experiences, learn from advanced countries' oversight mechanisms, and actively promote greater parliamentary transparency and accountability.
Furthermore, we collaborate with international think tanks, non-governmental organizations, and civil society groups to jointly advocate for democratic values and enhance transnational cooperation. These efforts ensure the effectiveness and fairness of parliamentary oversight, further improving governance quality and contributing to regional stability and development.
